Baldwin, Ga. – According to reports out of Habersham County, a husband and wife have been arrested for trafficking heroin.
The wife was originally pulled over under suspicion of driving under the influence. This led to a serious investigation and search of the vehicle. Officers discovered over 50 grams of heroin in her vehicle. Both her and her husband were booked into the county jail without bond.
As a Georgia Criminal Defense Lawyer, I will focus on the law behind Schedule I narcotics in today's post.

Some of the more commonly known drugs that are deemed Schedule 1 drugs include:

According to O.C.G.A. §16-13-30(a), it is unlawful for any person to purchase, possess, or have under his or her control any controlled substance.
